Square Contactless and Chip Reader with OtterBox uniVERSE Case Adapter (case not included)

This unit works well, and is very easy to set up. We purchased for our club so that we could accept credit cards for t-shirt sales at an event we sponsor. We (no IT types among us) had it up and running on an iPhone (including testing) within 30 minutes by simply following the instructions. The “Otter Box case adaptor” is worthless, unless the phone you choose to use is in an “Otter Box” phone case. Fortunately, it's totally unnecessary.We used the Bluetooth connection between “insert or tap” wireless reader and phone and experienced zero set-up problems and zero lost connection problems. A card swipe unit that plugs into your (pre-iPhone 7) headphone jack is included but we did not use it. For one thing plugging it in cuts off the Bluetooth connection to the wireless reader however, we found that ‘everyone’ seems to have a chipped card these days, making use of the swipe reader unnecessary.We had fully charged the wireless unit and phone before we started sales and found the battery life adequate for an 8-hour selling day.

I REALLY don't know why this cost 15 bucks less than the one without the otter box adaptor.. but ok.I am probably not going to use that adaptor. I will use valcro or something like that to attach this to my phone.But from our delivery standpoint, this thing has worked flawlessly. I ordered two more not including this and 1 other one that does not include the adapter but cost $$ more. Now I have 4. :)I've attached year to date sales and fees. We've previously everything was a manual entry, which results in 3.5% plus in transaction fees. Now everything is either chip/mag strip. One flat fee of around 2.75% is a nice saving. Stop complaining about the rate people, it's a no brain-er to use this.

This device has been an incredible help to me. I now use Square trade at my private practice office and its been so easy and nice to use. This chip reader fits into the small hole on an iPhone and then you swipe a credit card through it (you of course need to download the free app for Square trade first). The rest is simple and very intuitive in how you charge things. It has been wonderful for patients who want to use a credit card as it tells you right away if the card authorization comes through. Kudos to Square trade.

Didn't even care about the adapter since I don't have an Otterbox case, the rest of the stuff in the box works great! I used the bluetooth chip reader all day this past Saturday and 100% of my credit card customers had chip cards. This is what you need to stay competitive out there!

I purchased this, I notice something is wrong with my charger port. I had to hold it to charge it.. or tape the cord down... I reached out to square since I didn't purchase it directly thru them I cant get it fixed... Can someone help me get this fixed?

I love this chip reader with the corresponding attachment. I bought the appropriate case to make it all hook up together. Perfect and right at my fingertips when I am selling product at events. Well worth the money in the time it saves me at checkout.

This card reader is much easier to use and works a lot better than the original square card reader. I'd definitely recommend getting this card reader
